Epic "The Vietnamese people" - the Vietnamese song composed in 12 years

The epic, which took 12 years to be finished from 1998 until 2010, was composed by Trương Quý Hải. It consists of 5 chapters using traditional music melodies from northern, middle and southern areas of Vietnam.

Five chapters tell listeners different stories of Vietnamese people in the history of the country.

+ Chapter 1 "The Vietnamese" is about the essence of Vietnamese people, which is to love peace and to do their best for national sovereignty and development. Listeners will feel from this part the sounds of northern traditional music.

+ Chapter 2 "Navy forces at Hoang Sa" is about the struggles by Vietnamese people for national sovereignty. It's not about the fights to protect national sovereignty in East Sea (mainly two islands Hoang Sa and Truong Sa), but also their efforts against any foreign invasion inland. The composer used traditional music melodies mainly from the southern parts of Vietnam for this chapter.

+ Chapter 3 "Reunification" is about the Vietnamese solidarity. Wherever they are in the world, Vietnam is in their hearts. This chapter evokes the sounds of traditional music from the middle parts of Vietnam.

+ Chapter 4 "Wakefulness", which is composed based on traditional music from the northern parts of Vietnam, is the Vietnamese preoccupation about how to bring prosperity to the country and people.

+ Chapter 5 "You were born to be a Vietnamese" is about the pride to be a Vietnamese representing the nation in global community and contributing to the nation's development. This chapter is composed based on traditional music from the middle and northern parts of Vietnam.

The epic, which was debuted in 2010, was performed by 1,309 people, including senior leaders at FPT Corporation (top IT company in Vietnam) and students at FPT University.

The song is added to play-list VIC3 - V-Music and Dancing and Singing Crowds.

Check it out. Remember to stop all you're doing as the song lasts 16 minutes.
